India’s rapid commerce landscape is set to evolve further as Zepto, the country’s fastest-growing quick-commerce platform, expands its electronics category by introducing smartphones to its offerings. Beginning January 25, Zepto users will have access to a diverse range of mobile devices, including the latest models from vivo India.
The move is part of Zepto’s broader strategy to diversify its product portfolio and enhance the shopping experience by delivering essential technology at lightning-fast speeds. The initiative marks a significant step in quick commerce, traditionally known for groceries and daily essentials, by bringing smartphones directly to consumers’ doorsteps within minutes.
Announcing the expansion, Abhimanyu Singh, Business Head, Electronics at Zepto, emphasized the platform’s commitment to speed, reliability, and affordability.
“At Zepto, our Sellers are committed to providing our users with quick, reliable, and affordable solutions for their everyday needs. I thank our sellers for enabling a larger selection of smartphones to our platform, which further supports this goal,” he said.
Zepto’s partnership with vivo India aligns with this goal of accessibility and efficiency. Pankaj Gandhi, Head of Online Business at vivo Mobile India Pvt Ltd, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration:
“vivo India has always been dedicated to delivering cutting-edge smartphones that enhance the lives of our customers. Our collaboration with Zepto reflects our shared commitment to making the latest mobile technology easily accessible and available at the fingertips of users.”
The move is expected to cater to India’s growing demand for quick and convenient smartphone purchases, eliminating the wait times associated with traditional e-commerce.
Zepto will feature smartphones starting at Rs 5,999, ensuring affordability for a wide range of users. Additionally, customers can avail of an exclusive ICICI Bank promotion offering a flat 5% discount (up to Rs 5,000) on mobile purchases above Rs 5,000. This limited-time offer is valid till January 31.
Zepto has rapidly gained popularity in India’s quick commerce space, initially focusing on grocery deliveries before expanding into electronics and other high-demand categories. But it faces stiff competition from Zomato’s Blinkit, which has been offering 10-minute delivery of smartphones for a very long time.
