Western Digital Unveils World’s First 6TB Portable Hard Drive in India

Western Digital has introduced the world’s first 2.5-inch 6TB portable hard drive in India. This innovative solution is part of Western Digital’s efforts to cater to the growing need for larger and more robust storage options in the age of booming digital content.

The expanded product lineup includes the WD My Passport portable HDD line and SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE ArmorATD in 6TB capacities, marking a substantial milestone in portable storage technology.

In a statement, Khalid Wani, Senior Director of Sales, India, Western Digital, expressed excitement about bringing these high-capacity portable drives to the Indian market. He emphasized that this development underscores the company’s commitment to meeting diverse storage requirements for consumers.

The new 6TB capacity point is now available across Western Digital’s premier brands, offering a purpose-built solution for consumers, gamers, and professionals.

With the introduction of up to 6TB capacities for the WD My Passport hard drive line, individuals can now store and effortlessly back up their digital memories with peace of mind. The My Passport Ultra drive features USB-C technology, a modern metal design, and 256-bit AES hardware encryption for secure usage. Additionally, the My Passport hard drives are available in various colours to suit different styles.

The 6TB WD My Passport retails for ₹15,499 MSRP, while the WD Elements 6TB is offered at ₹15,299 MSRP. These products are now available at select Western Digital retailers, e-tailers, and the Western Digital Store.

For photography enthusiasts and professionals, the SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE ArmorATD drive provides an all-terrain solution with shock, rain, dust, and crush resistance, protecting valuable footage in various environments. The 6TB SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE ArmorATD is set to retail for ₹20,999 MSRP and will be available at select Western Digital retailers, e-tailers, and the Western Digital Store by the end of this month.
