Samsung Rolls Out One UI 7 – A Feature-Rich Redesign Powered by Android 15 and AI

After a rather prolonged wait, Samsung is finally pulling the curtains on its latest software update – One UI 7, now officially rolling out for select Galaxy devices. From the flagship Galaxy S24 lineup to the ever-evolving Galaxy Z Flip and Fold series, this update is not just another version bump. It’s a sweeping transformation built on Android 15, introducing advanced AI features, smarter tools, and a smoother, sleeker interface that makes the Galaxy experience feel more premium than ever.

One UI 7 Release Timeline

Starting April 7, Samsung has begun pushing One UI 7 to eligible devices, with the Galaxy S and Z series getting first dibs. If you own a Galaxy S24, Z Flip 5, or one of the recent Tab S9 tablets, keep an eye out – the update may already be waiting. Ahead of this rollout, a beta version had been tested in March, giving developers and early adopters a sneak peek.

How to Get the Update?

Updating is straightforward:

  • Head to Settings
  • Tap Software Update
  • Then hit Download and Install

Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi for a quicker download and has at least 50% battery before you begin. A stable connection and a bit of patience are all you need to unlock a fresh new Galaxy experience.

Eligible Devices

The first wave of updates will land on:

Samsung hasn’t forgotten about its loyal user base on slightly older hardware either – the Galaxy S22 series, Z Fold/Flip 3, and Tab S8 devices are expected to get One UI 7 in the coming weeks.

AI-powered smart Features

One UI 7 takes Samsung’s AI ambitions to the next level. Taking cues from its rivals, the update introduces a suite of intelligent tools:

  • AI Writing Assistant: Automatically summarise long text, correct grammar and spelling, and even format notes into bullet points — all with a tap.
  • Call Transcripts: Samsung now supports real-time transcription for phone calls in over 20 languages, including English (India) and Hindi.
  • Audio Eraser: A powerful new feature that strips background noise from your videos, letting your content shine.
  • Smart Recording Tools: You can now auto-record calls and convert them into neatly organised text notes, making documentation easier than ever.
  • Google Gemini Integration: Deepened support for Google’s Gemini AI enables hands-free assistance. Just ask, and your phone can, say, find a pet-friendly café nearby.

That said, not all devices may receive every AI feature – particularly older models may see a trimmed-down version of the suite.

Revamped Home Experience

Samsung’s design team has taken a bold step forward with One UI 7’s visual overhaul. Expect a refreshed home screen, interactive widgets, and a more personalised lock screen. The camera app has also been redesigned, with restructured menus, cleaner controls, and enhancements in Pro Video mode, including new zoom tools for cinematic transitions.

Meet the Now Bar

Perhaps the flashiest new addition, the Now Bar is Samsung’s answer to Apple’s Dynamic Island. Situated on the lock screen, this smart little strip gives quick access to tools like the music player, stopwatch, or live translator – no need to unlock your phone to jump into action.

UI That Feels Fresh

Samsung isn’t just tweaking things under the hood – they’re going all out on aesthetics, too. Expect snappier animations, redesigned app icons, and even faster app launch times. You can now customize your device more deeply – matching your notification shade and icons to your wallpaper, or even completely reshuffling your lock screen layout.

With One UI 7, Samsung is redefining what a software update can mean. It’s more than a patch – it’s a polished new coat of intelligence, style, and customisation that breathes fresh life into your Galaxy device. Whether you’re a power user or someone who just wants things to “work better,” this update hits the sweet spot between form and function. And with Android 15 at its core, One UI 7 sets the stage for the next generation of smart, adaptive smartphones.
