The much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has reportedly received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), suggesting an imminent launch in India. The Galaxy S25 Edge will initially be released only in select markets, including South Korea and China, on May 13.
The Galaxy S25 Edge was previously rumored to debut in April, with speculations around a wider rollout in India. Its BIS certification hints that India could still see the launch at a later stage. Samsung had also unveiled the smartphone during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, indicating potential plans for a global release later in the year.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Design and Features
First showcased at MWC 2025, the Galaxy S25 Edge sports a sleek flat-frame design with a frosted glass back. It stands out from the regular Galaxy S25 series with its unique dual-camera setup placed on a raised vertical module. The device is impressively thin, measuring just 5.84mm, making it even slimmer than the standard Galaxy S25. This likely results in a lighter build, weighing only 162g, attributed to reductions in battery size and camera hardware.
The display on the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be a large 6.66-inch AMOLED panel, potentially matching the size of the S25 Plus. Despite its size, it will feature a smaller 3,786mAh battery, optimized for the slim design.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Camera and Performance
In terms of photography, the Galaxy S25 Edge might pack a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main sensor, the same as the one featured in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It’s also expected to include a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, but may not have a dedicated telephoto lens—likely a trade-off for its ultra-slim profile.
Under the hood, the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and storage options going up to 512GB. It will run on Android 15-based One UI 7, offering a smooth and modern software experience.
