Nothing is gearing up to unveil its latest mid-range smartphone, the Nothing Phone 3a, on March 4. The announcement was made in the company’s Community Quarterly Update video, confirming that the device will be available via Flipkart, where interested buyers can sign up for launch notifications. The company is calling it the Nothing Phone 3a series, suggesting that a Plus model is also on the cards.
During the update, Nothing’s Co-founder, Akis Evangelidis, shed light on the philosophy behind the (a) Series. Unlike the flagship Nothing Phone lineup, which focuses on cutting-edge hardware, the (a) Series is designed for users who prioritise a great overall experience over raw specs. Evangelidis emphasised that the Phone 3a will focus on delivering excellence in key areas such as camera, display, processor, and design.
This is a departure from Nothing’s usual approach. The Nothing 2 flagship phone was launched much prior to its 2a iteration. But this year, the company is apparently planning to launch as many as three devices before unveiling its flagship handset.
In addition to revealing the launch date of the Phone 3a, Nothing’s Chief Financial Officer, Tim Holbrow, revealed that the company has now surpassed $1 billion in lifetime revenue since its launch in October 2020. Impressively, half of that revenue came in 2024 alone, fueled by successful product launches like the Phone 2a, Phone 2a Plus, and CMF Phone 1. Holbrow expressed excitement over the company’s scaling success and hinted at bigger things to come in 2025.
While Nothing has yet to reveal the official specifications, leaks suggest that the Nothing Phone 3a will pack a solid mix of performance, battery life, and camera versatility.
Here’s a look at the rumoured specs:
- Display: 6.8″ FHD+ AMOLED, 120Hz refresh rate
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3
- Rear cameras: 50MP + 50MP + 8MP
- Front camera: 32MP front-facing camera
- Battery: 5000mAh with 45W fast charging
With the March 4 launch just around the corner, the Nothing Phone 3a is shaping up to be a compelling option for users who want Nothing’s signature design and software experience at a more accessible price point. The leaked specs indicate a strong balance of performance, display quality, and camera versatility, making it a potential game-changer in its segment.
