Company Offers to Preserve Your Body in Cryogenic Freezing for Future Revival

jWhat if you could come back to life years or even decades after you die? This startup is offering a service to cryogenically preserve deceased bodies, with the hope of potentially reviving them in the future. Based in Berlin, Tomorrow Bio is asking for $222,603 upfront along with a $55 monthly membership fee to freeze bodies and body parts.

The company reports that they have already cryogenically preserved six people and five pets. Additionally, there are 650 people on the waiting list, with an average age of 36.

Tomorrow Bio provides a service they refer to as “field cryoprotection,” which involves starting the cryopreservation process right after a person is officially declared dead. They use specially modified ambulances that act as mobile operating rooms for this procedure. According to the company, they are the only ones in the world offering this service.

To prevent permanent damage from the cold, the body’s fluids are replaced with a substance similar to medical-grade antifreeze. Over the course of just over a week, the temperature is gradually lowered to about minus 320 degrees Fahrenheit. Once this process is complete, the body is stored in a large steel container filled with liquid nitrogen for long-term preservation.

The company operates storage facilities throughout Europe, including in Berlin and Amsterdam. According to Tomorrow Bio, they will soon open a satellite location in New York City as well.
