As businesses grapple with an increasingly complex cybersecurity landscape, Synology Inc. has introduced its ActiveProtect Appliance series in India, as a next-generation data protection solution designed for enterprises. With World Backup Day approaching, the launch underscores the pressing need for companies to fortify their defenses against data loss, cyber breaches, and ransomware attacks.
Over the past decade, ransomware attacks have surged, targeting enterprises of all sizes. In the SAARC region alone, this threat is particularly pronounced, with ransomware incidents projected to increase by more than 50% in 2025. These alarming trends have fueled the demand for robust, scalable, and cost-effective data protection solutions.
Synology’s ActiveProtect Appliance series stands out from traditional backup solutions, as it offers a streamlined, hardware-integrated approach, instead of demanding complex integrations, multiple licenses, and unpredictable costs.
ActiveProtect brings with it advanced Ransomware Protection, delivering immutable backups and air-gapped storage to ensure data integrity and access control. it also features a Unified Management Interface, which is a single dashboard that simplifies backup management across 150,000 devices. Synology boasts that the implementation cost of the ActiveProtect Appliance series is only 20% that of traditional backup solutions, allowing businesses to deploy enterprise-grade security without breaking the bank.
Synology is no newcomer to the world of private cloud and enterprise data management. With a staggering 520+ exabytes of data managed globally across 13 million servers, the company has built a reputation for delivering reliable and secure storage solutions.
During the event, Russell Chen, Country Manager for the SAARC Region, highlighted the growing complexity of data security and the need for scalable, user-friendly backup solutions. He said, “Data is the foundation of every company, and building a cyber-resilient environment is crucial today. The demand for a scalable, secure, and user-friendly data protection solution has never been greater, and ActiveProtect is positioned to meet that need in the SAARC region.”
With this new launch focused on Synology’s enterprise business, the company is all set to enhance its consumer-focused portfolio in the coming months as well.
