The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has generated significant buzz at MWC 2025, even though its official release date remains a mystery.
At Samsung’s booth, the Galaxy S25 Edge was the highlight, showcasing a wafer thin design and premium build quality. Since its initial unveiling at Galaxy Unpacked 2025, this flagship smartphone is set to be one of the thinnest smartphones of the year. Samsung has achieved this feat by redesigning core components, reducing thickness dramatically while maintaining top-tier performance, features, and battery life.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is anticipated to come with a 6.6-inch AMOLED screen boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 1600nits. It is expected that the smartphone will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, similar to its counterpart models, and will be equipped with 12GB of RAM. From the design revealed, the device is expected to have a dual-camera arrangement featuring a 200MP main camera alongside a 12MP ultrawide lens. Regarding its design, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is likely to utilize a ceramic construction, measuring only 5.84mm thick and weighing 162 grams.
Samsung displayed mock-ups of the Galaxy S25 Edge, allowing visitors to enjoy a 360-degree view of its stunning design. However, hands-on interaction was not permitted. As Samsung’s Newsroom stated:
“First unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked 2025 this past January, the Galaxy S25 Edge — the slimmest Galaxy S series yet — returned to the spotlight at Samsung’s MWC 2025 booth and sparked excitement among attendees.”
Galaxy S25 Edge vs. Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra
The Galaxy S25 Edge is even thinner than the standard Galaxy S25. Samsung achieved this ultra-slim form by removing the Telephoto zoom camera, opting for a dual-camera setup similar to the Galaxy Z Fold series. Despite this adjustment, Samsung promises a seamless user experience, ensuring the Galaxy S25 Edge competes strongly with the S25 Ultra.

Pricing will be positioned between the Galaxy S25 Plus and the S25 Ultra, making the S25 Edge a compelling choice for premium smartphone buyers. While Samsung remains tight-lipped, industry insiders confirm that the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to launch in April 2025.
Since the Galaxy S25 series dominated January and February, and the Galaxy A56 and A36 launched in March, an April release for the S25 Edge seems highly likely.
