On Monday, Apple kicked off the rollout of its latest M4 chipset, debuting with the iMac and quickly followed by the Mac Mini the next day. Today, Apple completes this wave of updates by unveiling the new MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16, each sporting the next-gen power of M4.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro now runs on the standard M4 chipset, though Apple also offers M4 Pro versions for users seeking a bit more muscle. Notably, even the base model now boasts 16GB of RAM, a welcome shift for the productivity-driven crowd. In India, the MacBook Pro 14 starts at ₹1,69,900, while the 16-inch model, equipped with the M4 Pro, starts at ₹2,49,900. And, continuing its trend of generous student discounts, Apple is offering up to ₹10,000 off for eligible students on these new models.

Pre-orders for the new MacBook Pros open today, with deliveries to customers and retailers, including Apple’s own Delhi and Mumbai flagship stores, beginning on November 8.

“MacBook Pro is an incredibly powerful tool that millions of people use to do their life’s best work, and today we’re making it even better,” said John Ternus, Apple’s Senior VP of Hardware Engineering. “With the M4 family’s power and pro features like Thunderbolt 5, an advanced 12MP Center Stage camera, an all-new nano-texture display option, and Apple Intelligence, the new MacBook Pro continues to be, by far, the world’s best pro laptop.”

Despite its upgraded internals, the new MacBook Pro stays true to its sleek, recognizable design. Yet, a few key upgrades stand out, including the increased base RAM—now a standard 16GB for M4 models and 24GB in the M4 Pro and M4 Max configurations. The nano-texture display, previously limited to Apple’s standalone monitors, is now available on MacBook Pro as well, providing a stunning anti-reflective finish for enhanced clarity.

Another substantial enhancement is in the connectivity department. The latest MacBook Pro includes USB-C ports that support Thunderbolt 5, pushing data transfer speeds up to 120GB/s—perfect for demanding workflows involving large files or complex media projects.

One of the more groundbreaking updates is the introduction of Apple Intelligence, a suite of smart features embedded within macOS Sequoia 15.1, powered by Apple’s own generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). While availability may vary by region, Apple Intelligence combines the M4 chipset’s Neural Engine with industry-first privacy safeguards, delivering an intelligent, secure assistant that enhances productivity, creativity, and communication for Mac users.

In a “one more thing” moment, Apple also announced a notable upgrade for its popular MacBook Air lineup: the base variant now comes with 16GB of RAM, aligning with the new memory standard across Apple’s Mac lineup. Pricing for the MacBook Air remains unchanged, starting at ₹99,900.

With its revamped MacBook Pro models and updated MacBook Air, Apple is making a clear statement: it’s committed to providing top-tier power and performance across its entire Mac lineup, whether you’re a pro user or simply someone who appreciates refined tech. From enhanced memory and blazing-fast Thunderbolt 5 connectivity to the exciting potential of Apple Intelligence, these latest Macs offer users a fresh blend of power, elegance, and future-forward intelligence, classic Apple at its best.
