Western Digital has introduced the new SanDisk Desk Drive, its highest-capacity external desktop solid-state drive (SSD), now available in India. This new class of drives not only combines the speed and reliability of an SSD but also provides a convenient way for content creators and business professionals to back up and access their high-resolution photos, videos, and files in a single location. Khalid Wani, Senior Director of Sales, India, Western Digital, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and meeting consumers’ evolving storage needs. “With massive 8TB capacity and up to 1000MB/s read speeds, SanDisk Desk drive is a perfect drive for desktop backup, allowing users to back up their data quickly and get back to work in no time,” said Wani. He also shared that Western Digital expects to double the capacity of the SanDisk Desk Drive from 8TB to 16TB on a single desktop SSD by next year.
Key features of the SanDisk Desk Drive include 4TB and 8TB capacities for storing various types of files, faster content access with read speeds up to 1,000 MB/s, quick backup options using Apple Time Machine or Acronis True Image for Western Digital backup software, a modern and compact design, and compatibility with both Windows and macOS systems out of the box.

For consumers interested in purchasing the SanDisk Desk Drive, it is available with a three-year limited warranty at a price of ₹39,999 for the 4TB capacity and ₹72,999 for the 8TB capacity. The drives can be purchased at the Western Digital Store, authorized SanDisk retailers, e-tailers, and distributors.
Furthermore, Western Digital offers pre-order incentives exclusively on the Western Digital E-store. Customers who pre-order the 8TB SanDisk Desk SSD will receive one complimentary 1TB SanDisk Portable SSD, while those pre-ordering the 4TB SanDisk Desk SSD will get one free 512GB SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB Type-C.
