CONS 👎

The Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320 is a sleek ultrabook known for blending high-end performance with a compact and slim design. After using it for three months, here’s a detailed look at the experience, covering its design, performance, and other aspects that stand out in everyday use.

Three Months with Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320

Design

Dell XPS 13 Plus

One of the first things we notice about the Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320 is its compact and lightweight design. Whether working from a café or attending a meeting, it’s easy to carry around, making it an excellent choice for those constantly on the move. The aluminium body gives it a premium feel, while the keyboard layout gives it a futuristic look.

Keyboard and Mouse

Dell XPS 13 Plus keyboard

The keyboard resembles modern art with its seamless key layout. While it looks stunning, getting used to the layout took some time. The typing experience is comfortable but has an extremely shallow key travel, which may not suit those who prefer more tactile feedback. The touch-sensitive function keys are a modern touch, though their lack of dedicated media controls may be a minor inconvenience for users who frequently adjust volume or playback. The mouse is invisible and borderless, with a buttonless touchpad that provides decent haptic feedback. However, right-clicking sometimes feels imprecise, and your fingers may slip past its edges until you adjust.

Display

One of the standout features of the XPS 13 Plus is its OLED display, which delivers an extraordinary visual experience. The bright, vivid colours and sharp pixel density make working on and watching content a delight. Whether you’re streaming videos or editing photos, the screen enhances the experience by providing rich detail and excellent colour accuracy. Additionally, the touchscreen functionality is impressive, with smooth responsiveness that feels natural, especially when scrolling or interacting with apps.

Performance

Dell XPS 13 Plus performance

When it comes to performance, the Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320 doesn’t disappoint. Powered by an Intel Core i7-1360P paired with DDR5 32GB of 6000 MT/s RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD, the laptop easily handles multitasking, productivity apps, and even heavier tasks like light photo or video editing. We even quickly rendered multiple reel videos for our Instagram channel, and the laptop doesn’t sweat.

Unlocking Windows 11 was a cakewalk, thanks to the fingerprint reader and facial recognition. Both are reliable, providing a seamless login experience. The Wi-Fi 6E support also ensures that online tasks, such as video streaming or file transfers, are smooth with minimal interruptions. Even when far from the router, the laptop maintained a strong connection. I was able to browse the internet even at a single signal strength.

Battery Life & Sound

On the battery front, the Dell XPS 13 Plus gave me around 6 to 7 hours of battery life under moderate use, which includes web browsing, document editing, and video streaming. While this might not seem groundbreaking, it holds up well for everyday tasks. The compact charger is also a great addition because it’s easy to carry and doesn’t take up much space in my bag.

The speakers were another highlight, offering loud, clear sound. I remember being able to make a video call in a cafe with just a laptop and hearing it clearly. The sound was excellent and loud while watching the office production video, so I never needed to switch to headphones or a speaker. The audio quality stands out, especially considering the laptop’s slim profile.

Camera & Connectivity

The front camera performs well for video calls, making it a reliable option for online meetings. While it’s not the sharpest camera on the market, it does the job well in well-lit environments, providing clear and consistent images.

One notable drawback is the limited port selection. The Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320 comes with only two USB-C ports. If you’re charging the laptop, that leaves just one port free, which can sometimes feel restrictive, especially if you rely on multiple external devices like storage drives or monitors. A USB hub may become necessary for anyone needing more connectivity options, but that’s another item to carry along with a laptop.

Final Thoughts

Dell XPS 13 Plus looks

After 2200 hours or, let’s say, three months of use, the Dell XPS 13 Plus 9320 proves to be a dependable, stylish, compact laptop. Its sleek design, impressive performance, and premium build quality make it a great companion for those prioritizing portability without sacrificing power. However, its limited ports and inclusion of media controls on touch-sensitive function keys may require some adjustment depending on user preferences. Overall, it’s an excellent choice for professionals on the go, students, or anyone seeking a capable, compact laptop.
