NEHA NAGAR – Finance Influencer Of The Year (Female)

Ex : How did your content creation journey kick start?
I started making finance videos on TikTok to take my business to the next level. At the time, TikTok was very popular, and I jumped on the bandwagon. So, I decided to try to promote my business on TikTok by making simple videos on finance topics. TikTok then was banned by the GOI. Fortunately, Instagram launched Reels within a week, and I started posting there, so yeah, that’s how my journey started.

Ex : What is your most viral reel/short? How did the idea come, and how long did it take to shoot?
My most viral reel was about the UPI controversy. I made the video to clarify the misconception that customers must pay 1.1% charges for using UPI. The government had announced that it would be introducing charges for using UPI, but there was a lot of confusion about what this meant for consumers. I made the video to clear up this confusion and explain that the charges would only apply to merchants, not consumers. The video took me about 3 hours to shoot and edit. It got over 15 million views in just a few days.

Ex : Any 4 creators you want to collaborate with in the future.
Tech Burner, Komal Pandey, Raj Shamani, and Abhi and Niyu

Ex : What piece of tech is your favourite
My camera and my laptop.

Ex : Assuming Instagram is shutting down in 24 hours, what will you do?
Switch to youtube. Repurpose my existing content.

Ex : Do you have an industry mentor?
Yes, Dr. Ritesh Malik is my mentor, and I am incredibly fortunate to have him as a guiding figure in my professional journey. He’s the founder of CoWork.

Ex : Tell us about a project that you are the most proud of.
I am most proud of the 10-part video series I created on Meta called “Master Your Money”. The series covers a wide range of personal finance topics, from budgeting, insurance, and saving to investing and retirement planning.

Ex : Give us one or more hashtags describing you
One hashtag that describes me is #MasterYourMoney.

Ex : Can you describe a BTS / blooper that happened during a shoot but didn’t make it into the final content piece?
I was shooting a video once, and my 3 month old started laughing in the background. I couldn’t edit his laughter out of the video, so I had to start over. It was a little frustrating, but it also made me laugh. I realised that even though I am a content creator, I am still a mom first.

Ex : What will the creator landscape look like in 10 years from now?
In the next 10 years, the creator economy is expected to grow rapidly. It is possible that the market could reach ₹1500000 crores or more by 2030.

Ex : What are the platforms you are active on – how do you decide what goes where?
LinkedIn, Twitter, Threads, Instagram, and YouTube.

Ex : What’s the next big thing in the pipeline for you?
I am preparing to launch my course and master class. The course will cover various topics, including budgeting, saving, investing, and retirement planning.

Ex : What is your dream project?
My dream project is to create a company to help educate people about personal finance in India. I want to create a company that will provide affordable and accessible financial education to everyone, regardless of their background or income level.

Ex : Advice you would like to give to budding creators.
As a finance influencer, I have seen many budding creators come and go. I have one piece of advice for them: Just start. Don’t think about the competition. India is the most populous country in the world, with over 1.3 billion people. And yet, only a small fraction of creators are creating content in regional languages.
