PROS 👍

CONS 👎

Dell’s latest business laptop, the Latitude 7455, has arrived in India, targeting professionals who prioritise reliability and sleek design. Equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite processor, it promises enduring battery life, secure functionality, and steady performance. But how does it actually perform? Let’s break down its core features.

Here's an in-depth review of the Dell Latitude 7455

Design

The Latitude 7455’s aluminium chassis is both lightweight and durable, making it ideal for business users who travel. Its slim profile is complemented by a compact charger, enhancing portability. However, it lacks a 180-degree hinge, limiting versatility in collaborative settings. The absence of an Ethernet port could be a drawback for those who need wired internet stability, though a third-party adapter can resolve this.

Connectivity options are limited to two USB Type-C 4.0 ports, a USB Type-A, an audio jack, and a microSD slot. While the lid’s hinge is solid, opening it with one hand proves challenging. Typing on the Latitude 7455 is comfortable due to its well-spaced keys, although slightly larger keys could improve speed. A fingerprint sensor is integrated for quick and secure access, along with a dedicated Copilot key for AI assistance, adding to its appeal as a productivity tool.

Display

Review - Dell Latitude 7455

Featuring a 14-inch IPS touchscreen display with a QHD+ resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio, the Latitude 7455 offers excellent colour accuracy, covering 100% of the sRGB colour spectrum. The nearly bezel-less design and matte finish add a modern touch, though its 400-nit brightness might disappoint those expecting higher luminosity in this premium category. For most indoor settings, this display works well, but those frequently working outdoors may notice reduced visibility.

Performance

Review - Dell Latitude 7455

The Snapdragon X Elite processor enables the Latitude 7455 to handle daily tasks with ease, scoring a solid 20,580 on Geekbench. It outpaces several competitors, including the Asus VivoBook S15, though its Cinebench performance slightly trails the Asus model. Practically, it breezes through routine tasks like browsing, document editing, and light media consumption.

With an impressive 12-hour battery life under standard use, it is a dependable device for on-the-go users. Even during a three-hour movie session with the volume turned up, the battery lasted around 8-9 hours, underscoring its stamina. Additionally, the Energy Recommendations feature can further prolong battery life, ideal for professionals who are always on the move.

Audio and Camera

Review - Dell Latitude 7455

The Latitude 7455’s speakers deliver clear audio, sufficient for conference calls and casual video viewing. External speakers would be better for an immersive sound experience, but the laptop handles everyday audio needs capably. Its 1080p webcam is decent for video calls, producing clear visuals with balanced colour, though close-ups might appear a bit soft. The inclusion of a privacy shutter is a thoughtful touch, bolstering user security.

Verdict

Review - Dell Latitude 7455

At ₹159,990, the Dell Latitude 7455 is designed for business users seeking a dependable laptop that blends style, battery life, and security. While the absence of an Ethernet port and slightly dim brightness might be slight drawbacks, the Latitude 7455 excels in critical areas like battery longevity, typing comfort, and security. Ultimately, it’s an excellent choice for professionals prioritising portability, efficient performance, and data protection, offering considerable value in a streamlined, premium package.
