Vivo has officially announced its latest V-series smartphone, the Vivo V50, on its website, confirming it as the successor to the Vivo V40, which launched last year. The website also reveals the available colour options—Rose Red, Starry Night Blue, and Titanium Gray, confirming the phone’s imminent arrival. However, details such as the processor, charging speed, and a few other specifications remain undisclosed. According to industry rumours, the smartphone is expected to launch this month.
Vivo V50: A Sleek Design with Powerful Features
The Vivo V50 is a slim smartphone that packs a massive 6000mAh battery, ensuring extended battery life. It is also the first smartphone in India to feature 3D Star Technology on its back panel, offering a visually stunning and premium look.
With enhanced durability, V50’s Shield Glass, developed in collaboration with Schott, a German glass manufacturer, provides 50% greater drop resistance compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the phone features an IP68 and IP69 rating, making it highly resistant to dust and water.
Next-Level Camera System with ZEISS Partnership
Vivo has integrated a 50MP ZEISS All Main Camera, consisting of:
- 50MP primary sensor
- 50MP ultrawide camera
- 50MP front-facing camera
The camera system offers 7 traditional ZEISS-style bokeh effects, enhancing both daytime and nighttime photography for professional-quality images.
Additionally, the exclusive Wedding Portrait Studio feature, designed specifically for India, makes the Vivo V50 the first smartphone with a dedicated wedding portrait mode, combining traditional wedding-style portraits with a film camera mode.
Refined Display & Software Enhancements
The design of the Vivo V50 retains similarities to the Vivo V40 but with a more rounded appearance. A significant display upgrade is its transition from a dual-curved panel to a quad-curved panel, offering a smoother and more immersive viewing experience.
The smartphone runs on Funtouch OS 15, incorporating AI-powered camera and software enhancements from the Vivo X200 Pro flagship model. However, official details regarding the processor and charging speed are yet to be confirmed. A previous rumour suggested that the Vivo V50 might feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC.
Vivo V50 Launch Date & Availability
