MSI has taken a big step in local production under the ‘Make In India’ program by announcing that two of its flagship laptops will be manufactured within the country. This production will take place at the company’s new manufacturing facility in Chennai. Having completed 20 years in India, the company hopes that this move signifies a shift towards tapping into India’s local talent pool and insight.

The two laptops that will be manufactured in India are the MSI Modern 14 and MSI Thin 15. The Modern 14 is for the budget-friendly buyer who doesn’t want to sacrifice style. The laptop comes with extensive storage, reliable connectivity, and long battery life. Its pricing starts at Rs 52,990. As for the MSI Thin 15, this series features laptops that are high on performance and still grab a sleek and portable design. It starts at Rs 73,990.

India is one of MSI’s fastest-growing markets, and as the demand for high-performance laptops continues to rise, the company plans to enhance its accessibility to consumers in the near future. It plans to increase touchpoints by having a presence in more laptop stores and making its products available via Croma and Reliance Retail.

John Hung, NB General Manager, MSI India, says, ” India has long been a key focus for MSI, and the country’s growing demand for high-performance laptops has been integral to our decision to begin manufacturing locally. With its expanding tech ecosystem and rapidly evolving consumer base, India presents immense opportunities for growth. By beginning production of the Modern 14 and Thin 15 models to India, we are not only making MSI’s products more accessible but also reinforcing our commitment to delivering innovative technology, with luxurious aesthetics and ultimate performance tailored to the unique needs of Indian consumers.”
