OnePlus Announces ₹6,000 Crore Project Starlight to Boost Services in India

Project Starlight

OnePlus announced its ambitious Project Starlight, a Rs. 6,000 crore initiative aimed at enhancing customer experience and device reliability in India over the next three years. This substantial investment underscores OnePlus’ commitment to its Indian user base, following earlier steps like the launch of a smartphone repair program addressing display-related issues. As part of the initiative, the company aims to roll out features and services tailored specifically for Indian consumers.

Scaling Up Service Centers Across India

OnePlus plans to expand its network of service centres in India by a significant 50% by mid-2026. While the exact numbers remain undisclosed, the company reported a notable 11% increase in exclusive service centres and a 22% rise in total service outlets in 2024. These efforts are geared toward making OnePlus’ after-sales support more accessible and efficient for users across the country.

To further enhance its service capabilities, OnePlus is introducing multiple customer support channels, including live chat, WhatsApp, and a hotline. Customers will also have the ability to track their service requests seamlessly. In addition, third-party retail stores under the new initiative will offer enhanced service capabilities, complementing OnePlus’ existing 40 exclusive and 33 authorised retail outlets in India.

“Green Line Worry-Free Solution” and Hardware Improvements

As part of its customer-first approach, OnePlus is rolling out the Green Line Worry-Free Solution, which expands its lifetime screen warranty program to include any device affected by green line display issues. Alongside this, OnePlus is introducing a new protective layer for AMOLED screens and intensifying its hardware testing processes to bolster device durability.

Project Starlight

These advancements pave the way for the highly anticipated OnePlus 13, which will debut in India with a DisplayMate A++ certified screen. The flagship smartphone promises significant improvements in display quality, aligning with OnePlus’ goal of setting new industry benchmarks.

Features Tailored for Indian Users

Project Starlight also emphasises the development of India-specific features. For instance, the OnePlus 13 will debut Steady Connect, a feature designed to deliver robust Bluetooth connectivity with a range of up to 360 meters. This enhancement is particularly useful in environments prone to interference, such as subways and gyms.

Moreover, the OnePlus 13 will support 5G-Advanced (5.5G) technology, delivering up to 380% faster speeds, according to the company. A signal optimisation feature tailored for transit systems like the Delhi Metro is also set to improve network performance in high-traffic areas, further solidifying OnePlus’ focus on addressing real-world connectivity challenges. With Project Starlight, OnePlus is poised to redefine customer satisfaction, service excellence, and technological innovation in one of its most important markets, India.
