Honor 200 Series Brings “Circle to Search” to India with New Update

Honor 200 Series

Honor’s 200 Series is receiving the long-awaited Circle to Search feature in India, courtesy of the RM3 OTA (over-the-air) update for the Honor 200 5G and Honor 200 Pro 5G models. This update doesn’t just bring advanced visual lookup functionality; it also packs the latest Google security patch for October 2024 and overall performance enhancements. Honor first announced Circle to Search for the 200 series earlier this month, though until now, Indian users hadn’t seen the feature’s rollout.

Circle to Search Finally Arrives on Honor Devices in India

Originally introduced by Google on Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series and later included in the Pixel 8 lineup, Circle to Search has gradually expanded across Android. This visual lookup feature allows users to instantly search for any visual element displayed on their screen, from identifying landmarks to gathering information on items, directly enhancing the browsing and search experience. Despite its introduction to select Samsung and Pixel devices, Circle to Search has yet to make its way to other Android brands. With this update, Honor’s 200 series is among the first non-Samsung, non-Google smartphones to receive it.

The RM3 update also strengthens device security and performance for the Honor 200 series. The October 2024 Google security patch addresses critical cybersecurity concerns, making the devices safer against potential threats. In addition, the update adds system audio recording capabilities to screen recording, along with three resolution options: 480p, 720p, and 1080p, allowing users flexibility based on their recording needs.

The Circle to Search feature itself is a game-changer, leveraging Google’s AI to scan and interpret images on-screen, allowing users to select text from visuals, translate languages, or run quick web searches on identified items. This makes it an ideal tool for those who rely on their device for quick research or language assistance.

The RM3 update will be available to all Honor 200 series users in India by October 31, as confirmed by the company. Users interested in updating can do so by4. Once downloaded, installation is quick and straightforward, bringing Honor 200 devices in line with the latest Android features and security standards.
