The Footsteps feature harnesses the power of Snap Map and Memories to create a detailed journey of users’ travels. Upon first use, Footsteps generates an initial trail based on past trips stored in Memories. As users continue to explore, the feature seamlessly updates, using location data to chronicle their adventures. Previously an exclusive offering for Snapchat+ subscribers, Footsteps is now available to all iOS users, providing a new layer of personalization to the platform.
Privacy remains a top priority for Snapchat; Footsteps data is only accessible to the account holder. Users can rest easy knowing they can manage their history, with the option to delete their Footsteps record at any time.
