Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Debuts With Exynos 2400e CPU And Galaxy AI

Samsung has continued its tradition of offering flagship features at a lower price via its Fan Edition phones by launching the Galaxy S24 FE. A new Exynos 2400e will be at the heart of this device, and Samsung has even equipped it with the same Galaxy AI features that made the Galaxy S24 range such an attractive bunch.

The Exynos 2400e has been described as a deca-core chip with a 3.1GHz frequency. Although its exact configuration is unknown, we do know that it comes with a combination of Cortex-X4, Cortex-A720, and Cortex-A520 cores. It even features an Xclipse 940 GPU and an AI Engine to power the Galaxy AI workloads. A vapour chamber has been added to the mix this year, but the RAM has stayed put at 8GB. Storage options also remain unchanged, with 128GB and 256GB options being available.

Coming to the display, it’s a 6.7-inch panel with a larger footprint than its predecessor. The resolution of this LTPO AMOLED 2X panel is FHD+, and its refresh rate is 120Hz. Samsung’s Vision Booster technology is present on this panel to offer high visibility on bright, sunny days.

The camera hardware is led by a 50MP main snapper bearing a wide f/1.8 aperture. The 8MP secondary camera is geared towards the telephoto experience, offering 3x optical zoom. The third camera is, of course, a 12MP unit, offering an ultra-wide view. This year, Samsung has brought yet another flagship feature to the FE series in the form of the ProVisual engine. It’s a combination of Nightography and an object-aware engine that optimises colours in Super HDR.

Speaking of the battery, the Galaxy S24 FE has been equipped with a 4,700mAh unit that supports 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. While the charging speeds haven’t changed over last year, the battery capacity has received a minor 200mAh bump.

The phone runs Android 14 out of the box and grabs a layer of OneUI 6.1. Samsung has said that the Galaxy S24 FE will receive 7 OS upgrades and keep receiving security updates for 7 years. The best part of the device’s software, though, is its espousal of the Galaxy AI suite. Everything from Circle to Search to Live Translate has been added to the mix.

The big caveat is that the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE has only been announced for western markets for now. There’s no word yet on when it will arrive on Indian shores. It will make its way into the US on October 3, with its base price set at $650 (approx. Rs 54,400). The 256GB variant will retail at $710 (approx Rs. 59,400).
