Nothing has recently been revealed about their upcoming budget smartphone, CMF Phone 1. The company describes the yet-to-be-launched CMF Phone 1 as “a wonderful entry point to our entire product ecosystem.” Like the rest of the products from CMF by Nothing, the CMF Phone 1 features a unique design, and as shown in the teaser, it is confirmed that at least one variant of the phone will be available in a bright orange colour.
The back panel of the CMF Phone 1 sports an orange-coloured rotator, which seems to be a volume controller, similar to the one we saw earlier in the CMF buds. However, its sole purpose was a lanyard attachment point and in free time, one can use it as a fidget spinner. The CMF Phone 1 smartphone is likely to be constructed from plastic and faux leather.
Specs
Despite its budget-friendly positioning, the CMF Phone 1 boasts impressive specs. It features a substantial 6.67-inch OLED display with a silky-smooth 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, ensuring 5G connectivity. The CMF Phone 1 will notably lack the signature Glyph lighting feature found in other Nothing Phones. Earlier, the CMF series was limited to accessories like smartwatches and earbuds, but with the launch of the phone, it is entering the smartphone arena.
Camera
The budget smartphone is rumoured to have a 50 MP dual-camera setup on the rear, while the 5,000 mAh battery with fast-charging support promises to keep you powered throughout the day. Additionally, the CMF Phone 1 is expected to run the latest Android 14 OS, potentially enhanced by the NothingOS 2.5 skin.
Price
The CMF Phone 1 is a bold testament to Nothing’s relentless innovation and impeccable design sensibilities. With this launch, Nothing aims to address a gap in the market overlooked by other budget smartphone makers, promising a unique offering that demands attention. As of now, the Nothing Phone (2a) is the company’s most affordable smartphone, priced at ₹23,999. However, the CMF Phone 1 is poised to redefine affordability in the lineup, and it will likely debut somewhere around the price of ₹20,000, making it a great option for budget-conscious consumers.
